GLCC

It has been an honor to be included in the heritage of Great Lakes Christian College.  Its reach spans the globe and is active in many ministries.  I have been witness to those from Mexico to Hong Kong and have fond memories of each.  I have watched other Christian colleges close though their reach was even greater, but GLCC remains strong and marches onward serving the next generation of preachers, teachers and missionaries.  I can’t say enough about this college’s commitment to excellence and the standard it produced in me as a member of God’s Kingdom.  As we await Jesus’s 2nd coming, may we greet Him with our service of praise bringing many to Him, amen.

God’s Timing Is Amazing

I wrote this yesterday:

“Dear Mr. President, Thank you for all you have done for our great nation. You have been hard at work restoring the greatness of America from the mess President Biden had made of it. In that same spirit, please restore your previous designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) due to the alarming and ongoing persecution of Christians across the country. It is my understanding that President Biden had reversed that designation during his tragic term. It is also my understanding that Congressman Moore has already addressed this on October 6 with Marco Rubio. Please take immediate action to address the systematic persecution and slaughter of Christians in Nigeria. Thank you. Brian Carter”

I saw this today:

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria.  Thousands of Christians are being killed.  Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.  I am hereby making Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR COCERN” — But that is the least of it.  When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!  I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me.  The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries.  We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!”

God’s timing is amazing.  I know that I’m not the only one who has contacted the President.  CBN has reported on this, and multiple news sources have notified people of this atrocity.  What a great way to wake up on a Saturday morning.

Absent
It is an absolute horror to consider.
Sodom and Gomorrah came to an end.
Do we dare to forget what happens when we turn from You?
The faithful know Your eyes see everything no matter the silence?

A7 Antidote

Antidote
You are the only cure for the eroding poison loaded here.
Opportunities for significant turning point actions are what can remind us of more.
There were many who died ignobly, so many unknown under lock and key.
How was Yours under a spotlight that is remembered for thousands of years?
You did things that gave meaning beyond what we see.
You used our everyday to medicate our memory for we are so forgetful here.
Bread and water are what give us sustenance and You used them to answer a hunger and thirst we did not know.

Absolution
Thank You Jesus for freeing me from sin.
I don’t have to look back and relive past mistakes.
That absolves from nothing.
Do I really think I haven’t learned my lesson 100x over?
Torture has no silver lining.

Aquiescence
You have my complete and absolute surrender.
Each day, I find there is more I must release to You.
There is no protest for I find there are many ways in which I can hide.
Fear and the various sins it births are kept hidden ’neath pride and vanity.
If You didn’t give me something better than concealment, I wouldn’t bother.
If You didn’t replace it with Love, I’d never see it.

Ascertain
You are the only One I know for certain.
I’m not sure I am even me.
How do I know I can see outside of me?
Thoughts that are not mine but Yours, words that are not mine but Yours, and actions that are not mine but Yours.
Only with You can I see beyond myself.
Only with You are no regrets.
Only with You am I a better me, that I also know for certain.

Viceroy
You are my personal Governor ruling over my daily life.
You are as a beautiful Butterfly reminding me to enjoy the simple daily things.
You give me orders and guidance to continue living for more than for me.
You are my Defense, Your blessings are seen as curses to those who do not seek You.
Your statutes are to be obeyed for by observing them, I am on a better path than one I find on my own.
You lead me to transformation from my sinful desires to ones that provide the blessings of a stable home.
