Speak Over Me

Speak over me Lord.
For when You speak, things exist
where before there was nothing.

The heavens and earth were made
by Your voice.
By Your call
the sea opened and at the right time
a path for Your people was made.

Speak over my family Lord.
May this reality crumble and melt like wax
before You.

You overflow storehouses
as You let fall the rain upon a farmer’s field,
multiplying the harvest.

Speak over me Lord.
May Your will be done
and Your Name be praised.

It is getting hard to see Lord,
but I know when You speak
things change.

Jesus, when You invited Your disciples to follow,
You showed them a Kingdom not of this world.

Jesus, when You called Lazarus from the tomb,
You revealed a power greater than the grave.

Jesus, when you uttered, “It is finished,”
You opened wide the door of our salvation.

Speak over me Lord.
I trust in You more than these horses.
They threaten to trample me if I don’t succumb.
Their pounding hooves batter against the gates;
they buck and kick at me.
Their intent to oppress and crush falls short
of Your shadow over me.

Your words give Life!
Your words are Life!
Your words give Truth!
Your Word is Truth!

Speak over me.
Deliver and rescue me,
You are mighty to save.

Lift me up out of this mire,
Purify me in Your fire,
Though the times are dark and dire,
I’ll sing Your praise with the choir.

This Moment

The day comes when you realize you are a terrible and tragic Captain of your
family’s vessel always doomed to crash upon the rocks,

When you’ve done everything, checked and rechecked, only to come up empty and find the rocks are upon you yet again,

You know it shouldn’t be this way, you know the stories, you can picture it easily, the answer is something you’ve memorized but is always out of reach,

When you are there, remember this life is but a moment, but a moment, the sun will rise!

Oh this life is a moment, it rages so,

You can feel its anger and desperation as it tries to overwhelm, listen to its siren call, “You are a sinking ship no matter what you try,” the song echoes over and over, over and over,

What does it want? It wants eternity.

Deceive you it will, it knows, oh it knows, Time will serve its purpose revealing the Truth even a moment cannot deny,

Soon it will all be over, and that is its doom,

There is One who conquered over all, He is the Rock this moment’s ship cannot outmaneuver.

We may crash, we might be perpetual strangers here, but the Son will rise!

This time will end, the sharp edges of this broken life that cut so deep they threaten to puncture hope itself will cease,

It isn’t keen enough to sever us from His Promise signed by His Blood and it knows, Oh it knows,

Be comforted, this moment will end.

Hearts Will Rend

It’s coming. I don’t know what it is or when, but the two forces of fear and faith will again meet with grace and truth, for the old corrupted pathways/modes of doing things are already being abandoned.

A new path is being forged, a new understanding is being given. He is there waiting for us to arrive, always leading, always revealing.

Confusion only takes precedence till understanding comes bringing enlightenment on its tail. Those who gained their crowns from chaos will find how short their reign will be. Those who received theirs through the crucible will be given power and will reign with He Who reigns Supreme.

It’s coming. I don’t know what it is or when, but mysteries will be explained and hearts will rend.

Church be ready.

Joel 2:13-15

The Timing

Do you really think He’s been hiding biding His time? He has kept the Silent Ones who have yet to speak. Those He has ordained for the last hour will rise. Oh no, all this, the timing is not from fear, never that, He is God.

Be prepared for the Spirit to work in wildfire ways. Hold on and watch! For those who for years have been holding on, it will all make sense. Everything. For those holding on to pride and stubbornness, those handholds will disappear. Let go for ones that will endure what is to come.

This is it people. The last days are here and now.

Do we really think we, who follow the Light, are subject to anything from and of this world? Power, the kind that makes Hollywood tremble, is ours. Who needs a stage when He has the universe? When He stands, silence. When He lifts His Hand, mountains melt like wax. The mighty seas, beyond the control of any man, run from Him. There is no place but under His wings, under His wings.

You cry “Justice!” But should it or can it be any other way? You scream “Fairness!” But is He not Just and Fair, the Holy and Righteous One? You want blood to change it all. Has He not given you His Son?

No, time is coming to an end. Prepare yourself, all already bow and kneel to
someone. Whom do you serve?

I serve Jesus, the Risen One.

No One Knew

No one knew what was going to happen.  They witnessed the incredible for 3 years as they followed Him.  People left their homes and jobs on the spot just because He called or merely walked by.  They knew that whatever they knew about life just didn’t matter or apply to Him.

Oh some were jealous, and they were filled with hatred for the One who with a few words tore down their palaces of oppression.  They worked hard for their positions, they had authority and control over others that was unquestionable, “God ordained” even.  And yet, here was this man who did what no one has ever done.  The miracles He did and the teachings He gave shook everything and everyone to the core.  He questioned them and claimed a position of authority no man ever dared to claim.

Scandalous.  Could it be that the jealousy of the fallen drove them to it?  Having the perfect One in the presence of the twisted only reminded them of their evil?  That the perception of their own inabilities to ever be allowed to taste of the Tree of Life that He said was in reach if they only would stretch out their hands and believe gave birth to the evil that awaited them in their hearts?

They showed Him a different tree and nailed Him to it.  The sheep scattered as the wolves killed their Shepherd.

But no one knew.

No one but the Father.  His plans shattered everything even death itself.  For three days later, Jesus came forth from the tomb and revealed the Father’s plans to those He had chosen.

Scandalous.  Though sin had created the thrones of man, thrones that bound their kings to them and any who would bow before them to the grave, Jesus’ death and resurrection broke every chain and set every captive free.

The power of Sin and Death was broken and the grip of this world could no longer hold those who followed Him.

No one knew the depths of His love, no one knew how great and complete were His plans.  When Jesus came forth from the tomb, He set us free from ours.

His work continues today, will you step away from this world into His embrace?  This ending world with thrones of the grave for His eternal home with crowns that will never fade?

No one knew, but now you do.

For Those Who Have Gone Before and For Those Who Remain

Such a chorus it must be of saints and angels welcoming them home.
Such a sight to see when they receive their white robes and the crown of life to don.

When the Son of God no longer takes the form of a Lamb but girds Himself for war,
taking up their cause the world trembles and quakes for on it His wrath He will pour.

Look to the sky for the time is coming nigh when you will either enter His throne room
or call for mountains to fall and hide you from your doom.

Saturday of Silence

This Saturday of silence
They’ve seen so much, things no one has ever seen before
They were called, appointed, given a purpose so much greater than they had before
He once called them to be fishers of men
Do they dare to grab their nets and go back to fishing for fish?
Is it all over, is it really done?
What was it all for anyway for it to be ended in such a way?
This Saturday of silence
As still as the grave…

They abandoned Him
They couldn’t sleep that night
Reliving each moment, remembering His eyes
Haunted by their betrayal, cursing their cowardice
If only they would have said something, done something,
But they tried! He wouldn’t let them, He seemed willing to go
Did He know what they would do to Him?
Did any of them know?
How did any of this happen?
So many questions, but one thing they did know
They abandoned Him

Maybe they can redeem themselves
Turn themselves in to receive the punishment given
If that was His fate, it should be theirs as well
They believed in Him and the teachings He did tell
Like sheep, they should follow their Shepherd even through hell
But no, it seemed fear had them gripped
Scattered they were on this silent Saturday
Their world had been flipped on them and then ripped from them
No, there would be no redemption on this day, no, not yet

This Saturday of silence
We want to push past
We don’t even want to consider the desperation
Or fill our minds with such contemplation
We move on as if it didn’t happen
And if thoughts come of His followers on this day
We chase them away, we chase them away
But if and when we do, I believe we miss something
Something that can grant us such strength and power this world cannot contain
The same strength and power that carried Jesus through
All that He went through before
This Saturday of silence

Noah saw it, Abraham did too, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, David
What about me and you?
Elijah, Daniel, and as the chapter in Hebrews goes on to say,
“The world was not worthy of them.”
And there is “something better for us”
Yes, we know what’s beyond this day
They didn’t, each with their own Saturday of silence
But they carried on
And we are called to run
So let’s remember this day and remember it well
For its through such days that paves the way
For the advancement of His Kingdom
And this Kingdom we will receive
Glory, Hallelujah, continue on brothers and sisters
Brighter days are coming!
Victory is ours!

The Bitter Dark, The Coming Light

So let us be like the birds who sing amidst the Darkness
Let us carry their song till the coming of the Day
For it is His love that lifts our hearts to praise
As it is His power that lifts the sun to blaze.

And yet amidst this dark there is much to suffer
As Night seems to rule this present hour

Great pain and loss are our closest companions
Doubt and regret are our right and left hands
They seem to walk with us shadowing the Way
Stealing our joy and turning it to weeping
Stealing our breath from the song we’re to sing
Oh LORD we await the coming of Your Day

The Abyss cries out in the lack of Your presence
The shadows condemn us and we begin to fade

Tripping and stumbling trading walking for crawling
Wishing to be running so tired of falling

We remember O LORD when our legs were strong
Marching with the saints amidst Your mighty throng
We remember O LORD and it brings bitterness
Looking at now while we’re in the thick of this

Remind us O LORD of the strength that comes from You
Give us this strength for we long for what is true

We are laid low by the lives we have lived
And sometimes it wasn’t us but the things this world did
Sometimes O LORD we feel like Job
Abandoned by You and left alone in the cold

These waters they continue to rise
Above our chins they seek our demise

If we can’t turn to You where else do we go?
No one else has power like You
Not in Heaven, Earth, or Below

And then we hear them like distant stars in the sky
Little voices singing like the angels on high

Their voices gather into a chorus
And we see Light coming up before us

It begins as a glow awestruck we wait
Then it begins to grow and the Light becomes too great
The sky is filled with red like the blood that was shed
Behold! The waters around us recede and the Darkness has fled

The colors dazzle our eyes
and the warmth brings joy to our souls
We forget the days of our weeping
We leave behind those days of old
But we remember those little voices
that sang amidst the cold
Giving birth to the hope in our hearts
the coming of Christ foretold.

So let us be like the birds who sing amidst the Darkness
Let us carry their song till the coming of the Day
For it is His love that lifts our hearts to praise
As it is His power that lifts the sun to blaze.

Rhythm, Time, Anthem, Rhyme

LORD
keep us in step with Your Spirit
unite us in the common rhythm of love, Your rhythm for You are love
guide us in the common time of faith, for we trust in You
fulfill us in the common anthem of hope, for You are our hope
unbind us in Your common rhyme, for Your rhyme is truth
and Your truth sets us free

May the pounding hooves of the horses on the prairie
May the crashing ocean’s waves and the wonder they create
May the quake of the earth and the eeriness of the quiet
draw us nearer to You.
